Product Description
Type Vintage vacuum filling fountain pen.
Product Name Doric II, the "II" series had cap bands that covered the cap lip to reduce cracking and came in different colors and used a different filling system. This is from the Airliner series, and might originally have had an adjustable nib and ink shut off.
Manufacturer and Year Wahl Eversharp, USA -- 1930s
Length 4-9/16" = junior size.
Filling System Vacuum (piston) filler. This was called the "One shot" vacuum filling system by Eversharp and is modeled after the Sheaffer vac-fil system. We did not restore this filling system, but we have tested it and it's working well. We'll guarantee it for one year, though we expect it to last reliably for much longer.
Color They called this faceted gray and black "chunks and chips" marble celluloid "Silver & Black Shell." Silver colored trim with a 1/4" cap band that goes to the cap lip and has triangular cutouts. There is a partly translucent viewing area on the barrel.
Nib FINE #2 Manifold 14k nib. Firm and smooth. It's in very good condition with excellent tipping material.
Condition Excellent condition with no cracks, dents, or dings. This is a beautiful pen in a great collectible silver marble color. The cap and barrel have light wear. The blind cap has bite marks. The cap band has some spots of brassing and plating wear on the high points of the design. The clip has light scratching and some plating wear along the edges.
