Product Description
Type Vintage lever filling fountain pen with a very flexible nib.
Product Name Doric Junior.
Manufacturer and Year Wahl Eversharp, made in USA -- 1931-5 (the color indicates that it was made in those years).
Length 4-1/2 inches, there is a lot of size variation among the Wahl Eversharp pens.
Filling System Lever filler. We've replaced the sac and tested it. It's working very well.
Color Burma Pearl was Wahl's name for this gray and black celluloid pattern. White gold filled trim with a patterned cap band that is about 1/8" wide.
Nib FLEXIBLE FINE Eversharp 14k Osmi Iridium nib. Osmi iridium refers to the tipping material and the fact that the nib is labeled, "14CT" implies it was made in England despite the pen being made in the USA. Wahl Eversharp encouraged dealers to substitute various Eversharp nibs into Dorics. We cannot confirm when this nib change occurred. It writes with great line variation and is almost full flex. See the writing sample below.
Condition Excellent condition. though there are a few small cracks in the cap lip which all stop at or before the cap band and are not likely to spread further. It has minor handwear and a crisp imprint. No other cracks, and no scratches, dents, or chips. It has a bit of plating wear on the cap band and a few spots of wear on the clip. This is a rare color and it looks great. The pen has been fully restored and it's working very well.
