Product Description
Type Small ring top pen. PLEASE NOTE THE SMALL SIZE, AND THINK SERIOUSLY IF YOU WILL BE ABLE TO ACTUALLY WRITE WITH THIS PEN.
Product Name "52" is engraved on the end of the barrel. This partly comports with Waterman's numbering system - the 5 indicates that it's a lever filler, the 2 refers to the nib size - but normally a Waterman's pen of this size would have a V suffix
Manufacturer and Year Wahl Eversharp - late 1920s
Length 3-5/8" long capped, excluding ringtop hardware. With the cap posted, the pen is 4-3/4" long, but know that you might risk cracking the cap if you post it.
Filling System Lever filler. We have installed a new sac and tested the pen and it is working well. We guarantee the filling system for a year from the date of purchase.
Color Black chased hard rubber, the chasing in a rick-rack pattern. Gold plated derby and lever.
Nib 14k almost fully flexible Wahl #2 nib -- see writing sample below. There is some scratching on the rear surface of the feed (visible in the 2nd nib closeup shot), but this doesn't affect the performance of the pen.
Condition Excellent + condition. There is some slight oxidation of the hard rubber; most of the barrel and the lower part of the cap (near the lip). The chasing pattern on both cap and barrel is worn down, but is still visible. The lever bar has plating wear along the edges and at high point in the middle. The ringtop hardware has plating wear, but is firmly attached and working well. No cracks or chips or bite marks. The imprint is worn, but can still be made out.
