Type Vintage bulb filling small size desk pen.
Product Name Eversharp #2 Desk Pen and Base,
Manufacturer and Year Wahl Eversharp, made in USA -- 1930s, there is a similarly shaped Wahl Oxford base in the 1935 catalog.
Length The pen measures just under 8-1/4" and the base is 3-3/4" x 3-1/4" at the widest parts.
Filling System The pen is a lever filler. It has been restored with a new sac and is working well.
Color The celluloid pen is "Silver and Black Shell" with a gray gradient striped pattern. It has a 1/4" wide band with triangular cutouts where the tail unscrews. The trim is silver colored. This is one of the Airliner colors. The base is heavy and is a silver metal with red enamel painted on the upper portion.
Nib Adjustable #7 Eversharp nib. It writes from an extra fine with no line variation to a medium flexible nib. The piece on the face of the nib moves to adjust ink flow and has a 7 written on it. See the writing sample below, which was done in a very conservative fashion . The feed has an M on it.
Condition Excellent + condition pen and very nice condition base. The pen is fully restored and working well. The pen looks great with a slightly faded looking section and bite marks on the tail. The base has some of the red paint missing from all sides. The silver parts have some marks as well.The felt on the underside of the base is in perfect condition and has a clear label. The trumpet moves easily.
