Product Description
Type Fountain pen
Product Name Gold Seal.
Manufacturer and Year Wahl USA - 1930s
Length 5" long
Filling System The pen is filled via the lever system. We have installed a new sac and tested the pen, and it's working very well.
Color Brazilian Green - a marbled green with gold veins. The trim is gold filled. The clip is a high-mounted "soldier" clip.
Nib Fine nib, marked "Wahl Eversharp 14K Gold Seal Manifold". The nib is in excellent condition, very symmetrical in terms of wear, with excellent iridium. Firm and smooth.
Condition Very nice condition, excellent except for a cap lip crack. There is light to moderate scratching on the cap. There are some tooth marks around the edge of the top finial, as well as on the clip ring. The clip ring also has some brassing, and the clip has brassing and plating wear along the sides. The cap bands have brassing, especially along the edges of the undecorated bands. The lever bar has plating wear on the high points. The trim ring at the end of the barrel has brassing along the edges, and there are tooth marks around the end of the barrel as well. There is some cracking in the cap lip; we've included a detailed shot of the worst one, and you'll note that it doesn't go farther than the middle cap band, but it will not survive being posted and so we cannot recommend doing so. Excellent color, very uniform.
