Product Description
Type Rarely if ever seen safety pen in excellent restored working condition
Product Name Unknown.
Manufacturer and Year Wahl Eversharp, France (?) - 1920s. The imprint at the top of the cap just says WAHL EVERSHARP. We think it might have been made in France due the 18k nib.
Length 4-3/4" capped
Filling System Safety filler. Restored here at PSP with a new seal. As we had read, it was remarkably similar to a Waterman safety pen, and there has been supposition that these pens were made with Waterman parts. We will send instructions on how to use a safety pen.
Color Red mottled hard rubber. It is a rich bright red-orange with brown-black. Three thin gold bands on the cap, one at the top and two at the bottom.
Nib FLEXIBLE FINE 18k Wahl Eversharp #2 nib is very smooth. It has good tipping material and writes with nice line variation. See our writing sample below.
Condition Excellent + condition. The color is great. There are no cracks or chips. The end of barrel imprint is crisp and clear. The trim rings look good, no real brassing or plating wear. The imprint at the top of the cap is slightly smoothed down, but still readable. There are capping and posting marks but no scratches. No personalization. The nib extends and retracts as it should.
These Wahl safety pens are very rarely seen in the wild.
