Product Description
Type |
Vintage fountain pen by Wahl Pen. Engraved with an interesting inscription: AWARDED FOR MERIT FISHER'S OLYMPIC TOUR 1932 The only Fisher we could find associated with the 1932 Olympics was a female skater, so we're not sure about the tour. |
Product Name | "Wahl Pen" on the clip, but otherwise the exact name of the product line is unknown... this is the early "rollerclip" line with two cap band rings, and the black and gold bands on the ends |
Manufacturer and Year | Late 1920s.... the engraving says it was awarded in 1932 |
Length | Full length but slender. 5-1/4" |
Filling System | Lever filler. The filling system is working well with a brand new silicone sac. |
Color | Jade green celluloid with gold filled trim |
Nib | "Flexible" #2 nib is fine with excellent almost full flex. Lots of tipping material. See the writing sample. We're sure some sellers would call this super flex, and it is very close, but we hesitate to exaggerate flex. |
Condition
|
This pen has been used, but it is in excellent condition. The discolored barrel is the main weakness, because otherwise the pen is excellent. The cap is great with no cracks in the cap lip. No brassing can be seen on the trim, though there are signs of wear. The body is also excellent, with very good threads that show no cracks or breakage. |
