Product Description
Type Ring top fountain pen with a flexible nib and decorative sterling silver overlay.
Product Name We think this was made by Wahl, based on the dates on the two imprints. Similar to Waterman 452 1/2 V (full silver overlay, lever filler, size 2 nib, short slender model). However, based on the lever shape and Wahl patent date imprints, we don't think this was made by Waterman, though it does have a Waterman nib.
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, USA - circa 1920s.
Length 4-5/16" not counting ring hardware.
Filling System Lever filler. We've replaced the sac and it's working well.
Color Sterling silver overlay with a leafy & floral pattern over black hard rubber.
Nib FLEXIBLE FINE Waterman's #2 gold nib. It's in excellent condition with good tipping, feels smooth on paper, and flexes easily from a fine line to a broad or double broad with a little pressure. See writing sample below.
Condition Very nice condition. The barrel is personalized with the initials "H. J. S.". There is some pitting around the top and on the side of the cap, as well as towards the end of the barrel. The cap posts well on the end of the barrel. There are consistent marks on the barrel and cap. The lever bar looks fantastic. There are no chips or cracks, and all of the imprints appear to be quite crisp and readable. It's restored and working very well.
