Product Description
Type Ring top lever filling fountain pen with a flexible nib, restored and working well.
Product Name 0552 1/2 V (marked on the end of the barrel).
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, made in USA -- 1920s.
Length 3-5/8 inches, not counting ring top hardware.
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it here at PSP with a new sac. It's working perfectly.
Color Gold filled filigree (similar to the basketweave pattern) over hard rubber with gold filled trim (the underside of the lever is marked 18kt Gold Filled).
Nib FULL FLEX MEDIUM Waterman's Ideal gold nib is very smooth with excellent tipping. You get easy line variation from a thin medium to a double broad under very little pressure with nice springback. See our writing sample below.
Condition Superior condition. No cracks, chips, or personalization. There's a tiny ding in the filigree pattern toward the top of the cap, and just a hint of brassing on the very end of the barrel (probably from the cap being posted). There are a few very light scratches, but hardly a hint of discoloration or wear otherwise. This pen is in amazing condition considering its age. We've fully restored it and it's working like new.
