Product Description
Type Ring top lever filling fountain pen with a flexible nib, restored and working well.
Product Name 0552 1/2 V (marked on the end of the barrel).
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, made in USA -- 1920s.
Length 3-5/8 inches, not counting ring top hardware.
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it here at PSP with a new sac. It's working perfectly.
Color Gold filled filigree (similar to the basketweave pattern) over hard rubber with gold filled trim (the underside of the lever is marked 18kt Gold Filled).
Nib FLEXIBLE FINE Waterman's New York gold nib is very smooth with excellent tipping. You get easy line variation from fine to a double broad under very little pressure with nice springback. See our writing sample below. We consider this almost full flex.
Condition Excellent condition. No cracks, chips, or personalization. There's a ding near the end of the barrel, and some brassing on the very end of the barrel where the cap posts. Some scratches here and there. There's a crack in the underlying hard rubber that you can see in one of the opening of the filigree, but it does not prevent the cap from screwing on and staying on. We've fully restored it and it's working like new.
