Product Description
Type Vintage lever filling ring top fountain pen.
Product Name Model 0552 1/2 V (it's marked on the end of the barrel).
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, made in USA - circa 1920s.
Length Just over 3-5/8".
Filling System Lever filler. We restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Gold plated overlay in a lined pattern called "Sheraton" with a black hard rubber upper barrel and section.
Nib SEMI-FLEX EXTRA FINE gold Waterman's Ideal nib. It's extra fine, but feels smooth if you write with a light hand. Excellent tipping material. There are a few small scratches on the upper nib, but they are only scratches, not cracks, and they do not affect the way it writes. There's a little line variation form XF to medium and even a small broad with a little pressure. See writing sample.
Condition Excellent condition. The plating shows a few tiny dots of pitting in the grooves, which is common for some reason with the Sherarton overlay pattern. There are a few very light scratches and minor handwear marks here and there on the cap and barrel. No cracks or chips, dings or dents. The imprints are clear and easily readable. Fully restored and working well.
The barrel is engraved M.C.D. (see photos).
