Product Description
Type Vintage pen which works beautifully and has a flexible nib. Hard to find in such good condition.
Product Name Model 0552 (gold filled cap and barrel, lever filler, #2 nib -- all correct). This version came without a clip.
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, USA - circa 1920s
Length 5-3/8"
Filling System Lever filler (We have replaced the bladder and it works very well.)
Color Gold filigree with black smooth hard rubber end piece. The barrel and cap are covered with smooth and shiny gold filligree in the floral "Trefoil" pattern.
Nib The nib is marked Waterman 2. It is nicely flexible with a good ink flow ... good tipping material. Very responsive with excellent spring back. The range is extra fine to broad. See writing sample below.
Condition Superior condition, really just about perfect. No cracks or chips. No brassing except a bit near the top of the clip, some along the top cap edges and the edges of some of the filigree cut-out. There's a short rip in the filigree near one corner of the lever box which can be seen in the photo below. The imprints in the hard rubber are excellent. No dents, no personalization.
This pen writes very smoothly with a good amount of flex. The filling system is working well, and we'll guarantee it for a year.
