Filling System The fountain pen is a lever filler. We've restored it here at PSP with a new sac. The mechanical pencil uses a twist mechanism. The leads extend well but need to be pushed back in. It takes "thick" or 1.1mm leads.
Color Sheraton (lined) overlay pattern. Black hard rubber with gold filled overlay. The pencil has a hard rubber cone.
Nib FLEXIBLE ITALIC BROAD Waterman's Ideal New York #2 gold nib is very smooth. It has a definite cut for line variation in addition to tines that spread a bit. See our writing sample below.
Condition Superior condition. The exposed black hard rubber parts of the fountain pen have lightened slightly to a dark brown. There are several fine scratches on the cap and barrel. There is a little line of brassing at the top edge of the cap. The very tip of the pencil cone looks brassed. Both pen and pencil have polishing marks and handwear. Their imprints are clear, including the one on the fountain pen near the end of the barrel. The pencil has one dent, but none on the fountain pen. Both are personalized, "RAR" and they ship in their original Waterman's Ideal pen box.
