Product Description
Type Safety pen in excellent working condition
Product Name 0742 1/2 V, marked on the end of the barrel. The numbers do not completely match this pen. 0 = gold filled overlay, 7 = solid gold barrel band, 4 = safety filling system, 2 = nib size, 1/2 = slender, V = short. The 42 1/2 V apply, but the 0 and 7 do not. (The piston end piece might have come from a different pen.)
Length 3-9/16" capped, 4-3/4" posted. This is an extremely small pen, so please don't purchase it without giving considerdation to the size.
Filling System Safety filler (we replaced the seals and thoroughly tested the pen, and we will guarantee it to be free from leaks for a year from the date of purchase.)
Color Black hard rubber with a sterling silver filligree. The filigree has a leaf motif.
Nib FLEXIBLE MEDIUM Waterman's Ideal New York #2 gold nib is very smooth. It has lots of tipping material and writes with good line variation. There is a slight gap at the tipping part of the tines that allows for wet writing. See our writing sample below.
Condition Excellent + condition. The hard rubber is black and the imprints are clear. There are small dings and marks on the sterling overlay, but it's hard to see them amid the engraved strokes. The cap has a few small scrapes and deeper dings. No cracks in the hard rubber or filigree. The pen has been personalized, "Harriet Sleeper." Or possibly "Fleeper"! The nib extends and retracts as it should.
