Product Description
Type Vintage fountain pen in excellent working condition, lever filler.
Product Name Hundred Year Pen. This is what we think is probably the last iteration of the Hundred Year Pen, shown in the Davis/Lehrer book. It's identified by the nib and unusual lines at the end of the barrel.
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, USA -- circa 1943
Length 5-1/4"
Filling System Lever filler. We've replaced the bladder in the pen and the filling system works well.
Color Solid shiny black called "Jet Black" barrel with gold plated cap. The cap and barrel have two sets of four ridges above the lip of the cap and above the end of the barrel.
Nib FINE Flexible Hundred Year Pen nib, quite large. See writing sample below. Excellent line variation from fine to double broad.
Condition Excellent + condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is an elegant pen with great barrel shine, velvety black coloring and a nice-looking gold cap. The barrel looks fantastic, with just some micro-scratching. It has two sets of four grooves near the end. The lever has a few dots of pitting along the upper edge. The cap has a little plating wear alongside the clip. The clip has a rough bottom edge and plating wear along the sides of the end piece. Otherwise, it is a smooth and pretty cap, with two sets of four grooves above the cap lip. The imprints are very clear.
