Product Description
Type Vintage fountain pen in working condition, lever filler, hard to find.
Product Name Waterman 100 Year Pen, the name of the model changed from "Hundred Year" to "100 Year" after the first year of production but the imprint stayed "Hundred Year" on the cap and nib. This is the second to last version of this pen from 1942 with celluloid, a transparent end piece, and no barrel band.
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, USA -- 1942, this is the third year model.
Length Full size 5", it matches the 13.8cm capped length of the "late medium sized model"
Filling System Lever filler. We've replaced the bladder with a new sac in the pen and the filling system works well.
Color Dark blue celluloid with a clear blue end piece. The end piece is a replacement and it has very good transparency. The cap has a wide cap band and a few ribs and the barrel is ribbed throughout.
Nib Huge gold Waterman Hundred Year Pen nib. Fine with a good amount of flex. This is a gorgeous nib, super smooth with fine hairlines and easy flex from extra fine to medium. See writing sample below.
Condition Excellent + condition. The cap imprint is fantastic and there is very little plating wear. The transparent material at the very top of the cap is still blue, but is half ambered. The cap and barrel have handwear, with more handwear on the cap. No cracks, chips, dents, or major scratches. The end piece has been replaced but it looks very good. As a warning, be careful when using the clip as the area where the clip attaches can be prone to cracking.
