Product Description
Type Early eyedropper from the Waterman 2 series. Slip cap, no clip.
Product Name Model 412 (the imprint on the end of the barrel is faint but readable)
Manufacturer and Year Waterman - circa 1920s
Length 5-1/4"
Filling System Eyedropper .... tested and working well
Color Black hard rubber with sterling overlay in the "trefoil vine" design. The barrel and cap are covered with a cut out sterling filigree design which has been etched.
Nib The nib is italic, marked Waterman Ideal Reg Pat Off. Very smooth and fun to write with. There is a very short crack in the nib running down from the breather hole. The nib has no flex to speak of, so the crack is very stable and does not affect how the nib writes. See writing sample below.
Condition Very nice condition, quite beautiful. There is light scratching on the cap's sterling overlay. There is a small dent on the soft sterling top. There is some wear on the section. No personalization or engraving. The slip cap only makes a tight connection when pushed on all the way, so care must be exercised that the cap doesn't fall off.
