Color Black hard rubber with sterling overlay in a floral design. The barrel and cap are covered with a cut out sterling filigree design which has been etched.
Nib FINE nib is marked "Ballpoint Waterman's Ideal." These nibs had a rounded ball tip and a bit of a "Waverly" upturn, and were intended to be very forgiving for left-handed writers. It's sort of between flexible and semi-flex, with a slightly elongated tip which gives you slightly wider horizontal lines. Nice amount of tipping material. On the down-stroke it goes from fine to broad with little pressure.
Condition Excellent condition, though the ball of the clip has a hole in it (see photos). There are a few tiny dents in the sterling, but generally it's in better than average condition. Only light scratching on the section and the pieces of the barrel that stick past the overlay. The hard rubber end is a bit discolored by sun to a lighter color. No cracks or chips. Very attractive, and writing very well with the interesting nib on it. No personalization or engraving.
