Product Description
Type Vintage lever filling fountain pen
Product Name 4852V. Based on a late 1940s French Waterman ad, it's part of the "New Look" series.
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, France, late 1940s (We're guessing the vintage based on the military style clip, though it should be noted that this wouldn't have met the military requirements because the top of the pen would protrude from the pocket.) (This is similar in external appearance to the glass cartridge pens.)
Length 4-3/4"
Filling System Lever filler - excellent working condition with a new sac.
Color Black barrel and cap. The trim is gold plated.
Nib FINE FLEX 18k nib has good line variation, and is in excellent condition. See the writing sample below.
Condition Excellent condition. The material is fairly smooth and shiny. There is light scratching on the cap and barrel. Barrel imprint is rather smoothed out/faded, but is still readable under magnification. The lever and lever box have brassing and plating wear. The upper face of the clip has light scratching, and there is some brassing and plating wearon the sides of the clip. No cracks, chips, bite marks, or personalization. The filling system is working well.
