Product Description
Type Vintage pen in excellent condition which works beautifully. Very hard to find with a most desireable nib.
Product Name Model 5 (marked on the end of the pen barrel) - Colorband series. This is the "Pink" model. The #5 version of this model is harder to find than the larger #7 version.
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, USA - circa 1920s
Length 5" long
Filling System Lever filler. We have replaced the bladder and it works very well. We guarantee the filling system for a year from the date of purchase.
Color Red ripple hard rubber with gold plated trim. There is a reddish colored "Pink" color band at the top of the cap, set off by white bands. This is the original color band, not a replacement. Red ripple ebonite feed.
Nib FLEXIBLE EXTRA FINE "PINK" NIB. The amount of flex can vary from one "pink" nib to the next. This one does not have extreme flex, but we are willing to call it full flex. Please refer to the writing sample.
Condition Excellent + condition. There are a few small areas of brassing. The upper edge of the cap band, around the ball of the clip, and on the sides of the lever tab. Most of the clip and the lever box are excellent. Light scratching on the barrel and cap. No personalization. Excellent color and imprints. The original color band ring is still in place, though you can't tell that it was originally pink in color. It has surface crackling, but is fully intact with no chips missing. You can get replacement plastic bands to replace these original ones, but we like to keep the originals for as long as we can, especially when they are in as nice a condition as this one is.
