Manufacturer and Year Waterman, USA - circa 1920s
Length 5-1/16"
Filling System Lever filler (We have replaced the bladder and it works very well.)
Color Red ripple hard rubber with gold plated trim
Nib FLEXIBLE EXTRA FINE "PINK" NIB. The amount of flex can vary from one "pink" nib to the next. This one does not have extreme flex, but we are willing to call it full flex. Please refer to the writing sample.
Note: This nib came to us with a crack that ran from the base to the bottom of the E in IDEAL.. We had the crack professionally repaired by Greg Minuskin, (the only person we would have confidence in to repair a Pink nib.) The crack came no where near the tines, and had no effect on flex whatsoever, both before and after the repair. The tines are in great shape. See photos.
Condition Excellent +, just a slight sliver of brassing on the cap band, otherwise excellent plating. No cracks or scratches or personalization. Excellent color and imprints. The original colorband ring is still in place, though you can't tell that it was originally pink in color. It is cracked and has a small chip missing. You can get replacement plastic bands to replace these original ones, but we like to keep the originals for as long as we can.
Here are nib photos after the repair, courtesy of Greg Minuskin:
