Product Description
Type Vintage pen that works beautifully.
Product Name Model 5 (inscribed on sticker on the barrel end, this is the later version of the #5 pen, in celluloid).
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, Canada -- circa 1940s.
Length Just under 5 inches.
Filling System Lever filler (we've replaced the ink sac and the system works very well).
Color Black celluloid cap and barrel, gold-plated trim.
Nib The nib is marked "Waterman's 14 CT. F.D.W." It is flexible and medium with good ink flow. There is one pitting mark towards the tip of the right tine but this should not affect writing. See writing sample below.
Condition Superior condition. The nib is in excellent shape with no scratches or cracks. The gold-plated trim is very good. The clip is straight, tight, and close to the barrel with brassing only on the sides. The cap band and lever have no brassing and clear engraving. The black cap, barrel, and section are all the same uniform black color. The maker's imprint is completely legible. No cracks or chips and good impression overall. The filling system is working well, and we'll guarantee it for a year.
