Product Description
Type Vintage fountain pen
Product Name Model 52 1/2 (marked on the end of the pen barrel)
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, UK, circa 1925. It's got what looks like a London hallmark, and the pen case is from a London Jeweler. The "C" part of the hallmark should be a clue as to the year, and the typeface comes closest to matching 1938 which seems a little late though possible.
Length 5-1/4"
Filling System Lever filler (We have replaced the bladder and it works very well.)
Color Black Hard Rubber with 9k gold textured barrel. Personalized on the barrel: "Melita Roachsmith".
Nib Medium 14k W2A Nib. UK-made nib has some give but no notable line variation.
Condition Excellent + condition, in original petite brown leather box that is a bit worn on the outside and that has ink marks on the lid portion of the inside. This is a slim, beautiful pen with a shiny textured gold barrel. The black hard rubber has faded slightly to a dark brown. The original black can be seen on the section. The gold barrel is in perfect condition. The cap is rough with a pebbled surface near the top. The barrel has a personalization, "Melita Roachsmith" that looks hand etched. The imprints are slightly faded but readable. The hallmark on the barrel is clear.
