Product Description
Type Vintage pen which works beautifully.
Product Name Model 52 1/2 (the mark where it would say on the end of the barrel is almost completely worn away, but we're pretty sure the number would have ended in 52 1/2).
Manufacturer and Year Waterman - circa 1920s
Length Full length 5-5/16"
Filling System Lever filler. We have replaced the bladder and it's working very well.
Color Black hard rubber with gold plated or filled barrel cover and lever. This is a clipless model and it doesn't appear that it was designed for a clip, as it doesn't look like there is any sign that a clip was once there.
Nib FULL FLEX EXTRA FINE Waterman's Ideal New York nib (the nib's number is hidden by the section). It's fully flexible, with beautiful hairlines and variation all the way to double broad. See our writing sample below.
Condition Excellent condition. The black hard rubber has discolored a bit, but there are only minor scratches and no chips or cracks. The gold barrel-cover is just a tiny bit bent around the lever, but is free of dents. It's got some lesser microscratching, but no brassing or real wear. There's just a little brassing on the ridge of the lever. it's truly a beautiful piece, and the nib is amazing. Fully restored and working well.
Engraved "A J" on the barrel.
