Product Description
Type Vintage lever filling ring top fountain pen.
Product Name Model 52 1/2 V (marked on the end of the pen barrel).
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, made in USA – circa 1920s.
Length 4-1/4".
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Black chased hard rubber with nickel plated trim, a ring top cap, and a groove instead of a cap band.
Nib FINE gold Waterman's IDEAL #2 nib is smooth and springy with nice tipping material. Flexible, but not full flex. Please see our writing sample.
Condition Excellent condition. The chasing on the cap looks good. The color is slightly faded; it's still fairly dark, though there is a distinct line when the cap is removed. The plating is worn off of the ringtop hardware. The lever and housing are slightly rough but look good. The chasing on the barrel is smoothed down, but you can still see ghosted remnants of it. The barrel imprint opposite the lever is smoothed down, but still visible. There are some bite marks at the end of the barrel. The imprint around the last 1/2" of the barrel is pretty much gone, and the "52 1/2 V" on the end is fairly worn but still legible . No cracks or chips, dings or dents, or personalization.
