Product Description
Type Vintage pen which works beautifully.
Product Name Model 52 1/2 V (marked on the end of the barrel) - ring top
Manufacturer and Year Waterman - circa 1925
Length 4-1/2" including the ring top hardwear.
Filling System Lever filler (We have replaced the bladder and it's working very well.)
Color Black chased hard rubber with nickel plated lever and a groove in the cap instead of a band. The ring top piece is gold plated.
Nib FLEXIBLE MEDIUM-FINE nib is a Waterman's #2 with nice tiping material remaining. It's less than what we would call full flex, but more line variation than semi-flex. The line varies from thin medium to broad or a little more with a little pressure, and you can get very fine lines on the upstroke. See writing sample below.
Condition Excellent condition other than the color having faded somewhat. No cracks or chips. The chasing is a bit worn away, but the imprints are crisp enough to read easily. The trim is still looking nice, with a little wear but no brassing visible. It's quite a serviceable pen, still looking great. Fully restored and working well.
