Product Description
Type Vintage lever filling fountain pen, restored and working well.
Product Name Model 52 1/2 V (marked on the end of the pen barrel). This is the short ("V") and slender ("1/2") version of the classic 52.
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, made in USA - circa 1925.
Length Just under 4-5/16 inches (not counting the ring-top piece).
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Smooth black hard rubber with a 5/32" cap band, and a gold plated ring-top.
Nib FLEXIBLE FINE gold Waterman's Ideal #2 nib. It's quite smooth with nice tipping material. It's just about what we would call fully flexible, with easy line variation from fine to a nice large broad under very little pressure. See our writing sample below.
Condition Very nice condition with no cracks or personalization. The hard rubber has oxidized and discolored on much of the pen and appears dark brown, and there are spots of brassing on the lever and leverbox. The cap band has some marks on its edge. There's a tiny chip in the barrel threads, and while there is no crack, anyone pulling the section should be careful not to stress this area. The pen has been fully restored and it's working well.
