Product Description
Type Vintage lever filling fountain pen.
Product Name Model 52 (marked on the end of the pen barrel).
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, made in USA – circa 1920s.
Length 5-3/8".
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Smooth black hard rubber with gold filled trim (the underside of the lever is marked 18kt Gold Filled).
Nib SEMI-FLEX FINE gold Waterman's #2 nib is smooth with great tipping. It's what we would call semi-flex, or perhaps just a little more flexiible, with easy line variation from a very fine to a almost broad with hardly any pressure. See writing sample below.
Condition Excellent condition. There are some small scratches and marks on the cap and barrel, and a little discoloration here and there, more so on the cap than the barrel. There's a little brassing on the edges of the lever, some on the ball of the clip, and tiny dots of corrosion on the cap band which result in a layer of what looks like brassing on the upper half of the band, and when you polish it off a slightly worn look and dots of wear. No cracks or chips, dings or dents, or personalization. The imprints are very clear and crisp, and the pen looks very clean. It's fully restored and working well.
