Product Description
Type Vintage pen which works beautifully and has a flexible nib.
Product Name Model 52 (marked on the end of the pen barrel)
Manufacturer and Year Circa 1920's
Length 5-3/8"
Filling System Lever filler, we installed a new sac and it's working well.
Color Black chased hard rubber with nickel plated trim. The chasing is worn but still visible. The black is very dark and uniform. At a later point someone added a wide silver colored cap band to the pen to repair a cracked cap lip.
Nib FULL FLEX FINE. The nib is marked Waterman Ideal Reg. Pat. Off. It is nicely flexible with good ink flow -- we consider it more flexible than your average daily flex. The line varies from fine to double broad. It is very responsive. See sample below.
Condition Excellent condition. The black rubber isn't discolored and the imprints are clear. The chasing is evenly worn. The feed is a little rough instead of smooth but it won't affect writing. There are some light scratches on the clip and a a bit of discoloration or dulling on the nib. (The photograph looks much worse than it does in hand.) The most blemishes are on the cap band which has some striations and tarnish.
