Product Description
Type Vintage hard rubber fountain pen
Product Name Waterman 52, as identified by the number at the end of the barrel. 5 means lever filler and 2 indicates nib size.
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, USA -- 1920s.
Length 5-3/8" long
Filling System Lever filler. A new sac has been installed and tested. It's working well.
Color Bright orange red hard rubber called "Cardinal" by collectors. It has nickel-silver lever and leverbox. Waterman charged extra for clips, so it's not unusual to see these clip-less full size models. There's no suggestion it ever had a clip.
Nib Medium Flexible Waterman's Ideal #2 nib. It is smooth and flexes easily. Please see the writing sample below.
Condition Excellent + condition. No cracks, chips, dents, or dings. The coloration is quite nice, just a hint of discoloration underneath the cap. The imprints have some wear, but are quite legible. The lever and leverbox are a little rough looking, but still in good shape. The pen has a few small marks, but no large individual ones. No personalization. It's working very well.
