Product Description
Type Vintage lever filling fountain pen with a flexible nib.
Product Name Model 52 (marked on the end of the pen barrel).
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, made in USA -- circa 1920s.
Length 5-3/8"
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Red and black woodgrain hard rubber with gold filled trim (the underside of the lever is marked 18k gold filled), and a medium width cap band.
Nib FULL FLEX FINE Waterman's Ideal gold nib. It's smooth with excellent tipping material. Fully flexible, with very easy line variation from fine to double broad, and even more with a little pressure. It's close to what we would call a a wet noodle, though not quite.
Condition Excellent + condition except for some brassing on one edge of the cap band and on the ball of the clip, and just a tiny spot on the lever. Otherwise the pen is lovely, with just very slight discoloration. No cracks or chips, dings or dents, or personalization. The imprint is slightly worn, but still quite readable. It's fully restored and working well.
