Product Description
Type | Vintage pen which works beautifully and has a flexible nib. |
Product Name | Model 52 V (marked on the end of the pen barrel). The V designation was for a short pen, so the 52V model number indicates this is a short version with the same thickness and nib as the full size 52. |
Manufacturer and Year | Waterman - circa 1920s |
Length | 4-1/4" |
Filling System | Lever filler (We have replaced the bladder and it works very well.) |
Color | Black chased hard rubber with nickel plated trim |
Nib | The nib is marked Waterman Ideal Reg US Pat Off (we can see the nib number is 2). It is nicely flexible with a controlled ink flow ... and a lot of tipping material. The line varies from extra fine to medium. With no pressure it writes an easy dry-ish extra fine line, and with a little pressure you'll get noticeably more ink flow ... this is the kind of nib that responds differently to different inks, so you'll want to experiment. Please see writing sample below. |
Condition
|
Excellent condition with crisp dark chasing. No cracks or chips. The imprints are very readable, not at all worn. This pen writes very smoothly with a good amount of flex. The filling system is working well, and should be good for years to come. |
