Product Description
Type Lever filling fountain pen, restored and working well with a flexible nib.
Product Name Model 52 V (marked on the end of the pen barrel). This pen is short but the same thickness as the full length 52.
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, made in U.S.A. -- 1920s.
Length 4-3/8 inches.
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Red ripple hard rubber with gold filled trim (the underside of the lever is marked 18kt Gold Filled), and a medium cap band.
Nib FLEXIBLE FINE Waterman's Ideal gold nib is smooth with lovely tipping material. It's close to what we would call fully flexible, with easy line variation from fine to a broad + under just light pressure, and a bit more under a weightier touch. See our writing sample below.
Condition Excellent condition. There is light handwear and scratching. The clip has brassing on the ball end, and some small dents around the top edge. The cap band has brassing along the edges. The lever bar has tiny blotches of brassing on the tab end. The cap color is very slightly lighter than the barrel and section, but overall the color is quite strong with crisp contrasts between the red and the ripple portions. No cracks or chips, dings, dents, or personalization. The imprints are clear. The pen has been fully restored and it's working very well.
