Product Description
Type | Vintage pen which works beautifully and has a very flexible nib. |
Product Name | Model 54 (marked on the end of the pen barrel) |
Manufacturer and Year | Waterman - circa 1920s |
Length | 5-1/4" |
Filling System | Lever filler (We installed a new sac and it works very well.) |
Color | Black smooth hard rubber with gold plated trim |
Nib | The nib is marked Waterman's Ideal New York 4. It is nicely flexible with a good ink flow, not fully flexible or a wet noodle ... and a lot of tipping material. The nib is notably smooth and wet. The line varies from extra fine to broad. Writing sample below. Note: There is a crack in the nib started right below the "Y" in New York and extending to the top of the "4" which you cannot see in the photo.... it may run down further, but we did not pull the nib so we don't know the extent of the crack. It does not interfere with writing or ink flow as it is very far away from the tip. |
Condition
|
Excellent condition. No cracks or chips.. The black color is very good. The imprints are readable. The trim is in very nice condition but worn with some brassing around the edges of the cap band and the lever. This pen writes very smoothly with a pleasing amount of flex' almost full flex. The filling system is working well, we re-sac'd it and we'll guarantee it for a year. |
