Color Black hard rubber (BHR) with gold-plated clip and rings. Cap ring is smooth and 1/8", and two barrel rings are 5/16" wide, engraved with a floral pattern and initials.
Nib Fine Flexible Waterman Ideal New York #4 nib. It is smooth and flexes easily. We feel comfortable calling it just shy of full flex. There is a short crack at the very base of the nib, descending down into the section from the "Y" in New York. (See photos.) This is very stable crack and will not be made worse by normal usage and flexing. Please see the writing sample below.
Condition Very nice condition. The black coloring is dark with just a bit of slight fading. As mentioned above, the base of the nib is cracked; it does not interfere with writing or ink flow as it is very far away from the tip or breather hole. There is brassing on the ball of the clip, and along the edges of all three bands. Both barrel bands are personalized, each one differently - one has the initials "SJW," and the other "LPW". The barrel imprint is quite worn, and only partially and barely legible. The end of the barrel imprint is similarly worn/polished down. The pen has no dents, chips, cracks or major marks or scratches. It's working very well.
