Product Description
Type Vintage lever filling fountain pen.
Product Name Model 55 (this is a good sized pen, verging on the oversized when compared with the standard sized pens of the day).
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, made in USA -- circa 1925.
Length 5-1/2"
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Black chased hard rubber (BCHR) cap and barrel with smooth hard rubber feed and section. It has nickel plated trim that has held up well.
Nib EXTRA FINE FLEXIBLE Waterman's New York Ideal nib. The nib is not particularly soft and the tines don't spread super easily, but with a small amount of pressure you can get strong line variation with great hairlines. Please see the writing sample below.
Condition Excellent condition. The trim is only a little worn on the clip. The chasing can still be made out, but texturally has almost entirely worn from the cap and is somewhat worn from the barrel. The black hard rubber has browned. The color change is strongest on the cap, but the barrel has two clear transition between colors due to capping and posting. The photos don't show the discoloration well, but it is there. No cracks, chips, or personalization. It's fully restored and working well.
