Product Description
Type Vintage lever filling fountain pen.
Product Name Model 55 (this is a good sized pen, verging on the oversized when compared with the standard sized pens of the day).
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, made in USA -- circa 1925.
Length 5-5/8"
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Red ripple hard rubber cap, barrel, and feed with gold plated trim.
Nib FINE flexible Waterman's Ideal #5 nib. It's smooth and springy. It writes with enough flex to be considered almost fully flexible. It varies between fine and double broad easily and with careful writing can achieve some extra-fine lines. See the writing sample below.
Condition Superior condition with some small areas of plating wear. There are small marks of brassing on either side of the ball of the clip. There is a little bit of polish residue in the indentations of the ball. There are only slight signs of plating wear on the cap band and lever. The barrel looks great with bright color and sharp contrast. The imprints are crisp and readable. No cracks, chips, or personalization. It's fully restored and working well. (The line on the end of the barrel is just a reflection.)
