Product Description
Type Vintage lever filling fountain pen.
Product Name Model 55 (this is a good sized pen, verging on the oversized when compared with the standard sized pens of the day).
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, made in USA - circa 1925.
Length 5-5/8"
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Red ripple hard rubber cap, barrel, and feed with gold plated trim. There's a gold filled top to the cap.
Nib MEDIUM flexible Waterman's Ideal New York #5 nib. It's quite smooth with lovely tipping material. It's more than what we would call semi-flex, but not quite full flex. It has easy line variation from a medium-fine to a nice broad with just light pressure.
Condition Excellent condition with some spots of plating wear. There are small marks of brassing on either side of the ball of the clip, as well as around its edges, as well as one spot on the upper edge of the cap band. The cap crown has a few light dings and dents in it. The body and cap are lovely with just light handwear. The color is beautiful and hardly faded. The imprints are a bit worn but readable. No cracks, chips, or personalization. It's fully restored and working well.
