Vintage pen which works beautifully and has a flexible nib. |
Product Name | Model 7 (marked on the end of the pen barrel) - Colorband series |
Manufacturer and Year | Waterman - circa 1920s |
Length | 5-9/16" |
Filling System | Lever filler (We have replaced the bladder and it works very well.) |

Nib | The nib is marked Waterman Ideal. It is fully flexible (though not a wet noodle) with a good ink flow and excellent smoothness ... and also really good tipping material. The line varies from extra fine to broad. Since this pen has a red colorband, that means this pen orignally came with a Waterman "Red" nib indicating normal flex. This pen has a replacement nib, but the flex is better than what would have been produced by the original "Red" nib. |
Condition
|
Superior condition. No cracks or chips. No brassing. The color is very good and the imprints are easy to read. The lever box and lever are in excellent condition. We are pretty sure the color band is original and has not been replaced .... if you look at it with magnification you'll see some crackling. This pen writes very smoothly with an good amount of flex. The filling system is working well, and we'll guarantee it for a year. |
