Product Description
Type Vintage Fountain Pen and Pencil set
Product Name Waterman 92, as labeled on the end of the pen.
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, USA -- 1940s.
Length Fountain pen is 5" long. Pencil is just a tiny bit shorter at 4-15/16".
Filling System Pen is a lever filler, which we've restored with a new sac and is working well. Pencil uses 1.1mm lead, which extends by twisting the nose cone. Pencil eraser is accessed by removing the very top portion of the barrel -- there is no eraser in the pencil.
Color "Turquoise" was Waterman's name for the swirled blue and gold-bronze celluloid, with gold plated trim.
Nib Fine Waterman's Ideal #2A nib. Semi-flex with generous tipping material, but no real line variation.
Condition Excellent condition with no cracks, dents, or dings. This is a beautifully and richly colored, shiny set that is striking and elegant. The fountain pen has long thin polishing marks throughout (cap and barrel). The barrel has marks caused by the cap lip. The end of the barrel has a few small, deep marks. The lever has some plating wear on the face. The top of the cap has some light chipping along the edge above the clip. The cap band and clip have a bit of scratching but they are quite nice. The mechanical pencil also has less wear than the pen. The cone has tiny deep marks. It should be said that the surface scratches mentioned are difficult to see because of the coloration. The cap band and clip look great. The imprints on both pieces are clear.
