Product Description
Type Cartridge fill fountain pen and mechanical pencil set
Product Name CF 875. CF for "cartridge filler," and 875 due to its original sale price of $8.75.
Manufacturer and Year Fountain Pen -- Waterman's, France; Mechanical Pencil, Waterman's Canada (1950s)
Length Fountain Pen: 5-7/16"; Mechanical Pencil: 5-1/4"
Filling System The pen comes with a working squeeze converter installed. Here's the challenge with Waterman CFs: the cartridges and converters are no longer made and are close to impossible to find. To use these pens, most modern day owners resort to refilling the cartridges with a syringe. If the converter stops working, you will be faced with that as an alternative, so we suggest you are careful with your ink selection because some inks will eat a hole in a rubber sac.
Color Teal blue and white (blue barrel, white section), with a shiny steel cap and gold plated trim.
Nib 18k nib is unmarked as to size, but we think it is medium.
Condition The fountain pen is in excellent + condition with light scratching on the section and barrel and with a shiny, pretty cap with just some micro-scratching. The end piece on the barrel has some plating wear. The mechanical pencil is in bad shape with a big crack, but we're including it anyway, and pricing the item just based on the fountain pen. The imprints on both pieces are clear.
