Filling System Here's the challenge with Waterman CFs: the cartridges and converters are no longer made and are close to impossible to find. To use these pens, most modern day owners resort to refilling the old cartridges with a syringe. Towards that end, we will provide the buyer with one used Waterman CF cartridge. The cartridge can be refilled. The pencil takes 0.9mm leads, which it extends via the traditional twist mechanism. We'll include a small pack of leads.
Color Red with a brushed steel cap and gold plated trim.
Nib MEDIUM 14k nib feels semi-flexible, though the barrel of the pen shows a chalk mark that says "Med. Flex." The nib is in nice condition, smooth with good tipping material. The top of the tipping appears a little scratched (see photos), but as this part of the nib has nothing to do with touching the paper or with feeding the nib ink it has no effect on the writing.
Condition Very nice condition. Both writing instruments have their original chalk marks. There's a few shiny marks on the caps, caused most likely by the pen and pencil touching each other in the box and making scratches. There's some light scratching on the barrels, more so on the pencil than the pen. The gold plated trim looks great on the pencil with some light microscratching but no real wear, on the pen, however, there is one small spot of plating damage toward the top left of the clip, and slightly more microscratching. Both pieces look quite nice. No chips or cracks, with clear imprints and readable chalk marks still on them. They're working very well.
