Product Description
Type Modern cartridge/converter filling fountain pen.
Product Name Charleston
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, France -- This pen was discontinued circa 2011, so it dates to before that.
Length 5-1/4"
Filling System Takes Waterman and most international cartridges and converters. A new Waterman converter is installed.
Color Ebony black with palladium trim and a black section/highlights. The model's webpage calls the trim chrome but specifies that palladium is used.
Nib EXTRA-FINE 18k nib with silver colored masking. It's probably palladium to match the trim. It is labeled EF on the feed and is smooth with excellent tipping. The masking is only on the face of the nib.
Condition Near mint, pre-owned condition. The barrel and cap have light signs of usage, but our inspection turned up no signs that the pen has ever been inked. (Our guess is that the pen has been removed from the box multiple times and picked up small marks from the elastic used to secure the pen) The trim looks quite nice, with minimal scratching or polishing marks. No cracks or chips, dings or dents, personalization, or plating wear. It's working perfectly, and ships in original box with converter, an extra (slightly evaporated) Waterman cartridge, and paperwork.
