Product Description
Type Vintage lever filling fountain pen.
Product Name Commando (it's marked on the barrel). This model was one step down in size from the standard Hundred Year Pen, and otherwise quite similar to the later Hundred Year Pens.
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, made in USA -- early 1940's.
Length 5".
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Black with gold plated trim and two thin cap bands.
Nib FLEXIBLE FINE Waterman's Ideal 14k gold nib is quite large. It's smooth with nice tipping material. It's flexible, with line variation from fine to a nice larger broad with a little pressure. Not full flex, but close and great for every day writing. See our writing sample below.
Condition Excellent condition for this very shiny, nice-sized pen. The barrel has marks caused by capping lines and some handwear; otherwise, scratching on the barrel is light. The cap has light wear only. The section has one short scratch in the center but it otherwise perfect. The cap trim rings look good and the clip is excellent, with no brassing. There are no cracks, dents, dings, or chips. The imprint is crystal clear.
