Product Description
Type Vintage lever filling fountain pen.
Product Name Commando (it's marked on the barrel). This model was one step down in size from the standard Hundred Year Pen, and otherwise quite similar to the later Hundred Year Pens.
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, made in USA -- early 1940's.
Length 5-1/8".
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Black with gold plated trim and two thin cap bands.
Nib MEDIUM Waterman's Ideal 14k Firm nib, marked 5A.
Condition Excellent + condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a dark, shiny black pen in a classic design. The barrel has marks caused by the cap lip and light scratching. The lever looks great. The cap has microscratching. There are some marks along the nib slit, but we've tested the pen and it's not affecting the performance of the nib. The two thin cap bands have light brassing. The clip has brassing around the open end and along the sides. The gold disc on top of the cap is a bit rough and has some corrosion. The imprints are crisp.
