Product Description
Type Vintage lever filling fountain pen.
Product Name Commando (it's marked on the barrel). This model was one step down in size from the standard Hundred Year Pen, and otherwise quite similar.
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, made in USA -- early 1940s.
Length 5-1/8".
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Black with gold plated trim and two thin cap bands.
Nib FLEXIBLE FINE Waterman's Ideal 14k nib is quite large. It's smooth with nice tipping material. It's flexible, with line variation from fine to a nice larger broad with a little pressure. Not full flex, but great for every day writing. See our writing sample below. It's got a few light scratches on the surface, but obviously nothing that affects the writing.
Condition Excellent condition with some minor scratching on the cap and barrel. There are some tiny marks on the cap bands, and the clip is just slightly bent to the side (visible in first and last photos below). No cracks or chips, dings or dents, personalization, or real plating wear.
