Product Description
Type Cartridge/converter filling fountain pen.
Product Name Executive. This was close to the Gentleman in quality but not the actual top of the line.
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, made in France -- 1976-89, this is approximate but it started after the Gentleman and ended before it too.
Length 5-1/2".
Filling System Takes international style refills, but most of them are too fat to fit in the barrel. Waterman branded refills are thinner and do fit but the long cartridges are too long. Waterman converters do fit and a new one is installed.
Color Silver plated with gold plated trim. It has a fluted or striped pattern that runs through the section and the end pieces. Waterman called this pattern godron in the Le Man series. It is not the sterling version as identified by the lack of hallmarks.
Nib BROAD 18k nib is smooth and just a bit springy with nice tipping material. The feed is marked, "L." In the 1980s, Waterman and a few other French makers tried to use L instead of B to label nib sizes.
Condition Excellent Condition. The cap band and section band have some plating wear and the pen has many polishing marks. The nib collar trim has one area of missing plating (see photos). There are a few short scratches at the top of the cap in the cartouche area. No dents, chips, cracks, or major scratches.
