Product Description
Type Vintage fountain pen in working condition, lever filler, hard to find.
Product Name Waterman Hundred Year Pen (marked on the nib)
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, USA -- 1942. This is the latest ribbed version as far as we can tell.
Length 5" This is the standard full size model.
Filling System Lever filler. We've installed a new sac in the pen and the filling system works well.
Color Very dark blue translucent ribbed barrel and cap. When held up in a well lit area, the cap lip can be seen through. When a light is placed in the hollows, you can make out the blue in the cap and the barrel. Made of celluloid, with a replacement barrel end in plastic. The original transparent blue part at the top of the cap is a very pale blue while the replacement blue on the barrel is quite bright.
Nib Huge gold Waterman Hundred Year Pen nib. Fine flexible nib. It offers strong line variation. See the writing sample below.
Condition Excellent + condition. No cracks or deep scratches. The small transparent part at the top of the cap is heavily ambered and has some cracks under the surface. The clip works but should not be stressed as that is what causes the top of the cap to fracture. The gold plated trim has very little wear and the cap imprint is crisp. The ribbing is strongly delineated and there are no chips, cracks or scratches on it. The replacement end of the barrel has some scratches. The pen is fully restored and working well.
