Product Description
Type Vintage fountain pen in working condition, lever filler, hard to find. This is the first "first year" Hundred Year Pen we've ever offered.
Product Name Waterman Hundred Year Pen (marked on the nib, and on the cap).
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, USA. The Hundred Year pen was introduced in December of 1939. The rounded ends and the high mounted clip were characteristics of the first version of the pen, as was the lucite material.
Length Full size 5-3/8" (there was only one size of this first year model)
Filling System Lever filler. We've replaced the sac in the pen and the filling system works well.
Color Transparent red ribbed barrel and cap. Gold plated trim.
Nib Huge gold Waterman Hundred Year Pen nib. Fine with a good amount of flex, garden variety flexible, not full flex. See writing sample.
Condition Superior working condition. Only light signs of usage on the body and trim. No cracks or chips. Slight brassing on the end of the clip and lever. The material is in fantastic shape - clarity is fantastic, and there's very little ambering or other color changes. If you look closely at the material mid-barrel you can see some crazing, but it is very subtle. The nib writes super smoothly and has good tipping material. The cap imprint is worn but readable. It is ready to write.
