Product Description
Type Vintage fountain pen in working condition, lever filler, hard to find.
Product Name Waterman Hundred Year Pen (marked on the nib, and on the cap)
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, Canada, 1942s. This is one of the later versions, with a few lines of ribbing on the cap but none on the barrel -- the 3rd or 4th version, it's hard to tell because the changes were sometimes subtle, and this one had the added complication of being from Canada. This is a version where the clear parts matched the solid color ... in this case red-burgundy.
Length Standard size 5" (not the oversize, but not the short ladies pen which is a half inch shorter)
Filling System Lever filler. We've replaced the bladder in the pen and the filling system works well.
Color Very dark burgundy cap, with matching transparent reddish cap-top and transparent reddish barrel end. Gold plated trim.
Nib Huge gold Waterman Hundred Year Pen nib. Medium with a good amount of flex.
Condition Excellent working condition. Some scratches and wear on the body and trim. No cracks in the reddish celluloid on the top of the cap, but we do recommend caution when using the clip as this area can be prone to cracking. Some of the imprint is worn. Small gap between clip and cap surface. The cap band is loose and it can be turned, but not loose enough to fall off.
The nib writes smoothly and has good tipping material. It is ready to write.
